- in mildest forms 45%-50%
- ppl age>65 yrs old - over 60%
what are the risk factors of periodontal diseases?
factors increase the likelihood of a disease, “identified” through longitudinal studies (“confirmed” be there before onset of disease)
ex: diabetes mellitus, tobacco smoking
what are the risk indicators of periodontal diseases?
identified by cross sectional studies, so temporary
ex: alcohol, obesity, stress, CVD, RA, OP
Risk determinants?
factors that can not be changed!
Ex: genetics, age, gender

BOP, PD, CAL, Furcation
