Q

What does the presentation of histoplasma look like?

A
  1. Asx in most
  2. Can present w/ pneumonia w/ calcified lesions

Q

What does the presentation of blastomycosis look like?

A
  1. Asx - rarely
  2. Pneumonia, rarely calcified, can be granulomatous
  3. Usually disseminates - presents w/ weight loss/night sweats, skin/bone involvement (ulcers, granulomatous nodules etC).

Q

What does the presentation of coccidiomycosis look like?

A
  1. Asx in most.
  2. Pneumonia
  3. Meningitis
  4. Can disseminate to bone and skin: desert bumps and desert rheumatism = erythema nodosum and arthralgias.
    * common in AIDs patients.

Q

What endemic area is paracoccidiomycosis associated with?

A

Latin America.

18
Q

What does paracoccidiomycosis look like histologically?

A

Captain’s wheel budding yeast: much larger than RBC.
