Subject
noun or noun phrase that takes action indicated by the predicate, to determine this ask who, what and where.
Example: NIKKI likes pecan pie
Predicate
Everything in the sentence after the verb
Complement
Phrase or clause that provides extra information about an element , such as a subject or object that has already been mentioned .
Example :
The weather is “quite warm “
Ellipses
Ellipses is the process of removing words or phrases from an utterance, clause or sentence, they are most importantly utilized to reduce unnecessary repetition
Example: “did max find what he was looking for ?
“nah , he had no luck
Nominalization
when a noun is created from a word , from any other word class
Example : Participation is encouraged . to participate becomes participation , this makes the action a concept and topic of the sentence
Object
Noun or noun phrase that has not taken the action , indicated by the verb , it can be the person , or the thing been acted upon
Example :
Nikki likes PECAN PIE
Adverbial
word phrases that provide extra info, typically in relation to place or manner
Utterance
another word for they said
Cohesive
to be clear and concise
Coherent
to make sense
