San Francisco Syncope criteria
CHESS: CHF History HCT < 30% ECG abnormality SOB history SBP <90 at triage
San Francisco Syncope rule outcomes
10% of patients who present with syncope and meet at least one of the criteria will have a serious outcome within 7 days
1.4% of patients who are rule-negative will have a serious outcome in 7 days
Red flag history for syncope
Exertion preceding the event
History of cardiac disease in the patient
Family history of sudden death, deafness, or cardiac dz
Recurrent episodes
Recumbent episode
Prolonged loss of consciousness
Associated chest pain or palpitations
Use of medications that can alter cardiac conduction
