What are some possible causes of syncope?
A
Cardiac:
- arrhythmias
- structural heart disease
- aortic stenosis
- conduction disease
- TIA
- congenital heart defect
- MI
- postural/orthostatic hypotension
- anaemia
- dehydration
- hypoglycaemia (diabetes mellitus)
- epilepsy
- hyperventilation (anxiety/panic attack)
- electrolyte disorders
- shock
- brain tumour
VASOVAGAL = simple faint e.g. standing too long (can be isolated or recurrent)
