Brain 30-45
Define cataplexy
Falls with flaccid paralysis and non responsiveness but no amnesia
Clinical features suggestive of reflex syncope x5
Absence of heart disease
Long standing history
Occurring during meals
During prolonged standing
After unpleasant smell or sight
Features suggestive of orthostatic hypotension x5
Whilst standing up
Prolonged standing
Postprandial hypotension
Standing after exertion
With autonomic neuropathy
Features suggestive of cardiac syncope x5
On exertion or in supine
Sudden onset palpitations then syncope
Family history of sudden death
Personal history of heart disease
ECG findings suggesting arrhythmic syncope
