1
Q

Communicate with eachother

by sending chemical messages across

the synaptic cleft that separates them

Q

Neurotransmitters def

A

Brain chemicles released from synaptic vesicles

Relays signals across synapse from one neuron to another

Can have excitatory or inhibatory function (seratonin)

Q

Excitation

A

When neurotransmitter (adrenaline)

Increases the positive charge of the post- synaptic neuron

This increases the liklihood the neuron will fire

and pass on the electrical impulse

Q

Inhibition

A

When a neurotransmitter (seratonin)

Makes the charge of the post synaptic neuron negative

Decreases liklihood neuron will fire

And pass on electrical impulse

Q

Vesicles

A

Small sacs

At the end of the presynaptic neuron

Contains neurotransmitters

That will be released into a synapse
