What is used for the treatment of anorexia?
Prednisolone or dexamethasone
What is used for the treatment of bowel colic and excessive respiratory secretions?
Hyoscine hydrobromide, hyoscine butylbromide or glycopyrronium bromide. These antimuscarinics are generally given every 4 hours when required, but hourly use is occasionally necessary, particularly in excessive respiratory secretions.
What is used for the treatment of capillary bleeding?
Tranexamic acid PO
What is used for the treatment of constipation?
Constipation is prevented by regular administration of laxatives. Methylnaltrexone bromide is licensed for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation.
What is used for the treatment of convulsions?
Prophylactic treatment with phenytoin or carbamazepine should be considered for convulsions. When oral medication is no longer possible, diazepam given rectally, or phenobarbital by injection is continued as prophylaxis.
