Positions of the APD

A

OFF, PERMISSIVE, RUN and TEST

PERMISSIVE (PERM): Phase (+/- 15 electrical degrees), freq. (+/- 0.2 Hz), Voltage (+/- 5%); breakers will be allowed to close by operator

RUN: Adjusts oncoming generator voltage and frequency to match bus conditions, and close designated breaker automatically

Feature in the Distribution System to prevent overload
- Can be initiated by the Commercial Off The Shelf Multifunction Monitor (COTS MFM) or by watchstanders at the UCCs or SWBDs
