What is desalination?
Desalination is a process that takes away mineral components from salt water(sea water). More generally, desalination is the removal of salts and minerals from a target substance. Saltwater is desalinated to produce water suitable for human consumption or irrigation.
what is cloud seeding?
Cloud seeding is a type of weather modification that aims to change the amount or type of precipitation, mitigate hail or disperse fog. The usual objective is to increase rain or snow, either for its own sake or to prevent precipitation from occurring in days afterward.
What is solar panels?
A solar panel is a device that converts sunlight into electricity by using photovoltaic cells. PV cells are made of materials that produce excited electrons when exposed to light.
What is air con?
Air Con is the process of removing heat from an enclosed space to achieve a more comfortable interior environment and in some cases also strictly controlling the humidity of internal air.
What are some problems to living in the dessert?
Inadequate/limited supply of surface water for livestock and human consumption.
Shortage of pasture for livestock rearing leading to nomadism.
Infertile soils which don’t support crop growing.
Low and unreliable rainfall which limits growth of crops and vegetation.
