It is achieved by maximising current populations quality of life, while maintaining and protecting the quality of the environment.

List the 7 Principles of Sustainable Development
A
- Provide improvements in healthcare, education and social well being to REDUCE birth rates in developing countries and stabilise world population
- Only use renewable resources in a way that does not reduce usefulness for future generations
- Decisions today shouldn’t damage the prospects for maintaining / improving future living standards
- Get people involved in decisions that affect them
- Give priority to development of new technologies that are cleaner, more energy efficient and use fewer natural resources
- Ensure the benefits of economic growth are more evenly distributed
- Prevent further land / resources degradation
