The ability to maintain or improve standards of living without damaging or depleting natural resources for the future.
Sustainable Development
Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Three Pillars of Sustainability
The three interconnected domains of sustainability: environmental
Climate Change
Long-term changes in temperature
Carbon Footprint
The total amount of greenhouse gases emitted directly or indirectly by human activities
Carbon Capture
The process of capturing and storing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from sources like power plants to prevent CO2 from entering the atmosphere.
Biodiversity
The variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem
Conservation Covenants
Legal agreements that restrict the use of land to protect its conservation values
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
A set of 17 global goals established by the United Nations in 2015 to address global challenges and achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030.
Environmental Performance Measures
Metrics used to assess the environmental impact of an organization’s activities, products, or services, often used to guide improvements in environmental performance.
