Q

What is Bentham’s theory ?

A

THE PANOPTICON. This is a disciplinary concept brought to life in the form of a central observation tower placed within a circle of prison cells. So the guard in the tower can watch every cell but the inmates can’t see inside the tower. Therefore the prisoners never know if they are being watched which leads to self surveillance.
