In art, led to experimentations with forms, processes, materials, resulting in abstractions that were challenging to understand
Modernity
The historical period that began during the Enlightenment (1650-1800) in Europe. Marks a transition from traditional and agrarian societies towards capitalism, industrialization, urbanization, secularization, rationalization and the rise of the modern nationstate and its institutions.
