What is a littoral current
A littoral current takes you to a rip
What is a rip? What are some signs of a rip?
A rip is a body of water moving out to sea.
Discoloured brown water, foam on the surface extending beyond the break, debris floating seaweed, waves breaking on both sides of the rip.

Wind directions
northerly winds come from the north and same with all other directions.
Low pressure winds move clockwise and winds with high pressure move anticlockwise.
Tide Charts
there will be two high and low tides within 1 day.
low tides are normally below 1 m. High tide is normally above 1 m.
what’s the difference between spring and neap tides.
Spring tides happen when there is a full or new moon and are very high or very low tides. Stronger tides.
Neap tides occur during quarter moons, there is a small difference between high and low tides and its a weaker tide.
Predicting changes in weather
Examine the clouds
Look for a red sky in the morning and at night
Gaze at the moon.

Intensity of the wind
Length of time the wind blows
Distance the wind blows

Plunging - most dangerous wave
Spilling - Best wave and safest
Surging - these waves never break
