Q

How is SPR set up?

A

A light source is set to shine through a prism which is sat on a thin metal layer, eg. Gold, which has the bound receptor on the underside of it, the ligand flow through a channel allowing binding to occur. Upon binding the angle at which the light reflects of the metal surface varies and is detected by a detector.
