Q

Where to avoid inserting a chest drain?

A

Avoid?
=Past the 9th intercostal space the lungs and the parietal pleura do not co-exist so there is a risk of penetrating the abdominal cavity
=Between ribs 4-6 anteriorly the pleura and lungs deviate from the sternal margin
