16
Q

Refresh Rate (Frame Rate)

A

The number of times per second that the monitor is “refreshed”, or scanned to illuminate the pixels.

17
Q

Resolution

A

The number of pixels that make up the dimension of a display, represented in a ratio value as the number of horizontal pixels by vertical pixels.

18
Q

S-Video

A

An analogue video signal that carries the video data as two separate signals (brightness and colour). S-Video works in 480i or 576i resolution.

19
Q

Stuck Pixels

A

Pixels that only show one colour of light, so they appear out of place when the display is on.

20
Q

TN (Twisted Nematic)

A

An LCD panel technology where the panel is black when no electric current is running through the liquid crystal cells because the cells align themselves in a twisted state. When an electric current is applied, the liquid crystals untwist, allowing light to pass through, resulting in a white display screen.

21
Q

Visual Artifact

A

An error or anomaly in the visual display of a picture.
