Example of verbal abuse
shouting or swearing at a service user or threatening physical harm. eg saying “I’ll tie you to a chair if you ask me again”
example of physical abuse
causing physical harm to a service user eg. making them sit in a bath until they are cold and tired.
example of emotional abuse
causing a service user to worry or to be afraid, eg. saying “I’ll remove all the light bulbs from your room so you wont be able to see
example of social abuse
Deliberately excluding a service user from a social event eg. not letting them take part an event
example of sexual abuse
touching a person in personal parts of their body or having sexual intercourse with them against their will
