custodial responsibility

A

The obligation of an individual for property in storage, awaiting issue, or turn-in to
exercise reasonable and prudent actions to properly care for, and ensure proper custody, safekeeping, and disposition of
the property are provided. Custodial responsibility results from assignment as a supply sergeant, supply custodian,
supply clerk, or warehouse person, and is rated by, and answerable directly to, the accountable officer or the individual
having direct responsibility for the property.

A

Financial liability investigation of property loss (FLIPL; DD Form 200) ;
Damage statement (DD form 362) - negligence or willful misconduct not suspected, states cause of damage ;
Memo for record (MER) - adjust losses of durable hand tools and set kits, and outfits (SKO)

A

investigation of property loss prescribed by DOD 7000.
Negligence or willful misconduct is suspected and the suspect does not admit liability ; value of admitted loss or damage exceeds the individuals monthly basic pay ; the total handling loss of a specific bulk petroleum product exceeds the allowable loss for that product and the dollar value of the total loss exceeds $1000 ; any controlled item is identified by a CIIC night vision device and nav system
