What happen in the tehran conference? (4)
-USA and britain agreed to open a second front
- Soviet Union would declare war on Japan once Germany was defeated
- Poland boundaries would be moved westward.
- United nations would be set up.
What happened at the Yalta conference? (5)
-Germany would be divided and reduced in size
- Europe would be rebuilt along the lines of the Atlantic ocean, those countries would have democratic elections
- The United Nations would be set up
- It was reaffirmed that the soviet union would declare war on Japan once Germany was defeated
What happen at the Potsdam conference? (4)
- A council of foreign ministers was set up to organize the rebuilding of Europe
- The Nazi Party was banned and war criminals were to be prosecuted
- Germany was to be reduced, and shared between Britain, France, the USA and the Soviet Union
- Berlin was also to be divided
What did Roosevelt is death lead to?
Truman became president and he was much more distrustful of the soviet union.

Overall, what were the main causes of the end of the grand alliance? (4)
- The USA dropped atomic bombs on Japan. This gave them a huge military advantage
- Roosevelt was prepared to work with stalin but he died in April 1945, Truman trusted stalin much less
- Stalin disliked the way Truman had tried to push him around during Potsdam
- This increased tensions.
Why did the Soviet Union and the USA not like each other?
They had different ideological differences.

- Everyone can make there own money
- Individuals are better at deciding what to make/sell than the state
- Trade between countries makes everyone weaker

- Capitalism only makes some people rich by exploiting everyone else
- Individuals are not as strong as everyone working together for the same aim
- The state should take control of the economy and run it to benefit everyone

A communist government was elected in 1945, and all elected non-communists were executed.
What is a satellite state?
A country that was in the soviet unions sphere of influence
How did romania become a communist country?
A communist led coalition took place. However by 1947 the communists had taken over and Romania became a one part state.
