Plot progression-how the events unfold in a story.
Kerrontatyyli
– Narrative style-the way a story is told (e.g., first-person, omniscient).

– Flashback- a scene set in an earlier time than the main story.
Ennakointi
– Foreshadowing- hints about what will happen later.
Takauma
– Retrospective view- similar to a flashback but often more reflective.
Symboliikka – Symbolism
– Symbolism- when an object or action represents something deeper.
Vertaus
– Simile- a comparison using “kuin” (like/as).
Metafora
an implicit comparison without “kuin.”
Allegoria
an extended metaphor, where the whole story represents something else.
Ironia
– Irony- when the meaning is opposite of what is stated.
Runomitta
– Meter- the rhythmic structure of a poem.
Assonanssi
– Assonance repetition of vowel sounds for poetic effect.
Rytmi – Rhythm
the pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables.
Eksistentialismi – Existentialism
a philosophy about individual freedom and meaning.
Absurdismi – Absurdism
the idea that life has no inherent meaning.
Melankolinen sävy – Melancholic tone
a gloomy or reflective atmosphere.
Patetia – Pathos
evoking emotions, often sadness or pity.
Fatalismi – Fatalism
the belief that events are predetermined and inevitable.
