Q

Limitations and assumptions of c-m-r-rc method

A

Limits- organisms could wipe off mark or lose it. Also there could be births or deaths at any time.

Assumptions- no one got harmed no one was born and everyone had enough time to mix within population

Q

Density dependent factors with examples

A

They tend to be biotic and the size of the population is influenced by the population density. Depends on how many organisms are in the ecosystem
Ex- competition predation etc

Q

Density independent factors with examples

A

They tend to be abiotic and the size of the population doesn’t depend on the population density. Event will affect all organisms
Ex- volcanic eruption fire drought etc

Competition

A

Species compete for the same resources
Both are harmed
Ex- plants growing close to each other to compete for light and soil nutrients

18
Q

Commensalism

A

1 benefits the other don’t get harmed nor benefits
Ex- whales and barnacles

Top- down control

A

Higher tropic levels controls the bottom populations

20
Q

Bottom up control

A

The lower trophic levels control the higher populations

Mutualism predatory competition etc
