Why did the US have to get UN support rather than send in their own troops?
If they went in it would have been an act of war.
The UN stepping in is an attempt to maintain peace.
How did the US get UN support?
Russia was boycotting the UN, and therefore could not veto the decision to enter Korea to reclaim it.
Russia was boycotting the UN because they would not recognise China as communist.
