Sudden Death Science Flashcards
What are after depolarisations?
Abnormal depolarisations of cardiac myocytes that interrupt phase 2,3, or 4 of the cardiac AP in the cardiac condition system of the heart
What can after depolarisations cause?
Triggered activity seen as sustained cardiac arrhythmias
What are early after depolarisations EADs?
Abnormal depolarisation during phase 2 or phase 3 caused by an increase in the frequency of abortive APs before normal depolarisation is completed
What does this SMAD4:p.Arg157Ile Tell you about the mutation?
The arginine in the peptide sequence of SMAD4 at position 157 has mutated to an Isoleucine
What does this SMAD4:p.Cys162Ter Tell you about the mutation?
The cystine in the peptide sequence of SMAD4 at position 162 has mutated to a stop codon
What does this SMAD4:c.2352A>T tell you about the mutation?
The adenine in position 2353 in the cDNA sequence has mutated to a thymine
