135.63 Recordkeeping Requirements

135.71 Airworthiness Check
The pilot in command may not begin a flight unless the pilot determines that the airworthiness inspections required by 91.409 or 135.419, whichever is applicable, have been made.
135.73 Inspections and tests
Allows the Administrator, at any time or place, to make inspections and tests to determine compliance
135.75/76 Inspectors credentials/DOD Commercial Air Carrier Evaluator credentials
a) Allows an FAA inspector/DOD evaluator who presents an Aviation Safety Inspector credential, FAA Form 110A or S&A Form 110B, to the PIC, to have free access to the pilot compartment (unless against the interest of safety)
b) Allows them to ride in forward observer’s seat
135.77 Responsibility for operational contro
Each certificate holder is responsible for operational control and shall list, in the manual required by 135.21, the name and title of each person authorized by it to exercise operational control
135.79 Flight locating requirements
Must have procedures established for locating each flight
135.83 Operating information required
Operator must provide the following to the PIC and the pilot shall use them:
- cockpit checklist
- multi, with retrac gear, emergency cockpit checklist
- charts
- IFR charts, if applicable
- multi, one engine climb performance
Contains requirements for the checklists
135.85 Carriage of persons without compliance with the pass-carrying provisions of this part
- crewmember or other employee of the certificate holder
- animal handlers
- HAZMAT handlers
- security or honor guard accompanying shipment made by the Goverment
- military courier carrying military cargo
- FAA inspector performing duty with cargo
- DOD evaluator
135.87 Carriage of cargo including carry-on baggage
- All cargo in an approved rack, bin or compartment
- Secured by an approved means, OR
- In accordance with: secured by safety belt or tie-down, precent movement in turbulence, tied down to avoid injury, does not exceed limits, does not inhibit exits, not directly above a seated occupant
135.89 Pilot requirements: use of oxygen
a) Unpress
- above 10K through 12K MSL for more than 30 min
- above 12K MSL
b) Pressurized
135.93 Minimum altitudes for use of AP
Does not apply to operations conducted in rotorcraft
135.97 Aircraft and facilities for recent flight experience
Each cert holder shall provide aircraft and facilities to enable each pilot to maintain and demo ability to conduct all ops for which pilot is authorized
135.100 Flight crewmember duties
No cert holder shall require, or crewmember perform, any duties during critical phase except those required for safe op of the aircraft.
No crewmember may engage in, or PIC permit, any activity during critical phase which could distract any crewmember from performance or proper conduct of duties.
135.105 Exception to SIC Req (IFR): Approval for use of AP system
May operate without SIC if equipped with an approved AP system. PIC must have 100 hours in make and model. AP must be 3 axis and used safely in compliance with this part
135.117 Briefing of pass before flight
Before each takeoff, PIC must brief pass orally on (supplemented by cards):
- smoking
- use of safety belts
- seatback position
- emergency exits
- survival equip
- (ditching)
- oxygen (12K MSL)
- fire extinguishers
