Federal Question Jurisdiction
A
Arises when a plaintiff alleges a claim arising under federal law.
No amount in controversy requirement.

Diversity Jurisdiction
A
Other than by federal question jurisdiction, a federal court may have subject matter jurisdiction over a case where:
- their is complete diversity of citizenship between the plaintiff(s) and the defendant(s); and
- the amount in controversy must EXCEED $75,000.
