Causes of SDH
A
- tearing of veins as they cross subdural space

Causes:
- NON-ACCIDENTAL INJURY CLASSIC- shaking or direct trauma to infant or toddler
- major trauma: fall from height, RTA
- neurosurgical complications
- cranio malformations
- cerebral infections
- coagulopathy
- metabolic
- retinal haemorrhages

Presenting symptoms of SDH
A
- Altered mental state
- Seizures
- Loss of consciousness
- retinal haemorrhages
- Raised ICP symptoms
