Alliteration
A sequence of words that begin with the same sound
sounds poetic and gives effect of engagement and entertainment.
Allusion
An inderect reference to another work of art that exists outside of the story
Can enhance a text by creating further meaning.
Anaphora
Repetition of word/phrase at the beginning of each sentence/clause
Creates wrythm and structure.

Euphemism
A soft inoffensive word or phrase that replaces a harsh, unpleasant word.
used to avoid offense.

Hyperbole
An exaggeration of a statement, often to an unrealistic or degree
adds more power to what you are saying

Figurative language that evokes the five senses to create an image
