Music that is produced by an independant artist or label without the influence of a major label.
Jazz Funk
Subgenre of jazz using a strong beat (groove) electrified sounds and analog synthesizers.
New Wave
A quirky pop approach to electronic music. most commonly in the 1980s.
R n B
Rythm and Blues. Soulful singing a strong backbeat and usually a horn section.
Reggae
Jamaican Origin, combines native elements with elements of rock and soul music. The accent is usually off beat.
Soul
A combination of rythm and blues along with gospel music.
World Music
Traditional music from the developing world sometimes icorporating elements of western music.
Rock n roll
Combines rythm and blues along with country music with the addition of electric instruments.
Scottish
Use of scottish instruments.
Celtic Rock
Use of traditional celtic instruments in rock music
60s Pop
the beatles, Rolling stones, Pink floyd.
Punk
Fast tempo simple melodies and harmonies usually anti-establishment lyrics.
Country
Ballads with the use of banjos guitar and steel guitar.
