American Light Lager
Aroma : Low to no malt aroma (corny)>Hops if present are minimal and spicy/floral
Flavor: Neutral palate very crips and dry, low to no grainy corn and hops / high carbonation, minimal bitter
Vital Stats:
IBU = 8-12
SRM = 2-3
ABV = 2.8 - 4.2
Style Comparison: Lighter, lower abv, version of Amer. Lager
Examples: Bud Light ; Coors Light
American Lager
Aroma: low to no malt > low to no hop spicy & floral
Flavor: neutral palate, hops low to medium low floral/spicy/herbal, touch bitter & high carbonation
Vital Stats:
IBU = 8-18
SRM = 2-4
ABV = 4.2-5.3
Style Comparison: more flavor and body than light lager/less bitterness than International Lager
Examples: Bud Heavy; Coors Gold
Cream Ale
Aroma: medium low to low malt notes, some corn, low DMS ok > medium low to no hops > fruity esters ok
Flavor: low to medium low hop bitter and flavor > low to moderate malt
Vital Stats:
IBU = 8-20
SRM =2.5-5
ABV = 4.2 - 5.6
Style Comparison: More character than American Lager
Examples: Genesee Cream Ale, Spotted Cow
American Wheat Beer
Aroma: Low to moderate grain, dough, bread > esters low to none > NO BANANA AND CLOVE >low to moderate citrusy, spicy, floral hops
Flavor: light to moderate bready, doughy, can be sweet malty or dry > low to moderate hops

IBU = 15-30
SRM =3-6
ABV =4-5.5
Style Comparison: More hop and less yeast than German Weissbier > NEVER banana and clove > More doughy than Blonde Ale

International Pale Lager
Aroma: low to medium-low malt > hops from very low to medium spicy or floral hops
Flavor: low to moderate grainy-malt > crisp dry finish > bready-crackery or corny malty sweet > hop bitter medium-low to medium

SRM =2-6
ABV =4.6-6
Style Comparison: more bitter and filling than American lager > less hoppy and bitter than German Pils > less body, malt and hop than Czech Pale Lager

International Amber Lager
Aroma: low to moderate malt grainy and slight toasty caramel > low to no hops
Flavor: low to moderate malt > low to moderate levels of caramel and toast ok but not required > low to moderate hop bitter spicy, herbal, floral

IBU = 8-25
SRM =7-14
ABV =4.6-6
Style Comparison: less developed malt than Vienna Lager
Examples: Brooklyn Lager, Yuengling
International Dark Lager
Aroma: little to no malt > medium-low to no roast and caramel > no to low spicy floral hops
Flavor: low to medium malt sweet > medium-low to no caramel and/or roast > no to medium spicy floral herby hop with low to medium bitter
Vital Stats:
IBU = 8-20
SRM = 14-22
ABV =4.2-6
Style Comparison: less flavor and richness than Munich Dunkel or Schwarzbier
Examples: San Miguel Dark, Shiner Bock
Czech Pale Lager
Aroma: light to moderate bready-rich malt combined with light to moderate spicy herbal hops
Flavor: medium-low to medium bready-rich malt with rounded hoppy finish > low to medium-high spicy herbal hop aromas and prominent bitter

SRM =3-6
ABV =3-4.1
Style Comparison: lighter and less intense than Czech Premium Pale Lager

Czech Premium Pale Lager
Aroma: medium to medium-high bready-rich malt > medium-low to medium-high spicy floral herbal hop
Flavor: rich, complex, bready malt combined with pronounced round bitter and spicy floral hop > BALANCE

SRM =3.5-6
ABV =4.2-5.8
Style Comparison: more color, malt and body than German Pils
Examples: Pilsner Urquell
Czech Amber Lager
Aroma: moderate intense rich malt aroma that can have bready and Maillard or slightly candy caramelly > spicy floral or herbal hop moderate to none
Flavor: complex malt flavor is dominant dry and burnt to caramelly and graham crackers > prominent hop bitter to balance
Vital Stats:
IBU = 20-35
SRM =10-16
ABV =4.4-5.8
Style Comparison: similar to Vienna Lager but with Saaz hop character > similar to English Bitter but more rich and caramel
Examples:
Czech Dark Lager
Aroma: medium to medium-high rich deep maltiness, bread crust, toast, nuts, cola, dark fruit and caramel, chocolate and coffee > low spicy hop
Flavor: mimic aroma > hop bitter should be noticed

IBU = 18-34
SRM =14-35
ABV =4.4-5.8
Style Comparison: More malt and hop than Munich Dunkel or Schwarzbier
Examples:
Munich Helles
Aroma: moderate grainy-sweet > low to moderate-low spicy floral herbal hop
Flavor: malt should dominate throughout, but hop perceive both in aroma and bitter > should have soft dry finish not crisp

ABV =4.7-5.4
Style Comparison: less malty-sweet than Munich Dunkel, more body than German Pils
Examples: Spaten Premium Lager, Paulaner Premium Lager
Festbier
Aroma: moderate malty richness, emphasis on toasty-dough aromas should have deep toasty biscuity trait > low to medium-low floral herbal spicy hops
Flavor: medium to medium-high malt with light toast and bread dough > medium to medium-low hop bitter and floral spicy herbal hops > should lean malty

SRM = 4-7
ABV = 5.8-6.3
Style Comparison: less intense and less toast than Marzen, richer than Helles, less malt than Maibock
Examples:Paulaner Wiesen, Hoffbrau Oktoberfest
Helles Bock
Aroma: moderate to strong grainy-sweet malt aroma with light toast >moderate-low to no spicy herbal floral
Flavor: mimic aroma, little to no caramel > moderate hop bitter and moderate to no hop flavor

SRM = 6-11
ABV = 6.3-7.4
