- Avionics master switch off
- Throttle to 1200 RPM
- Mixture to cutoff
- Taxi, map, position, instrument lights off
- Strobe lights left on
- Ignition off, remove key
- Record HOBBS / TACH time
- GEN / BAT master switch off
After landing procedure
- Landing light off
- Taxi light on (night)
- Fuel pump off
- Pitot heat off
- Flaps up
- Mixture: lean for taxi
- Trim: set for T/O
Before landing procedure
- Fuel pump on
- Verify fullest tank selected
- Mixture to full rich
- Prop to full forward
- Airspeed 75 on descent, 65 on final / approach
- Adjust flaps as airspeed slows and you get closer to airport / enter pattern
Descent / Approach procedures
- Obtain ATIS / weather
- Set Avionics / NAV equipment
- Set altimeter
- Perform approach briefing (seatbelts)
- Taxi light on (night)
- Landing light on
- Enrichen mixture as needed (assumes descent from cruise altitude)

- Lean mixture for max. power
- Keep CHT temp. below 420°

- Verify doors closed / locked, no anunciator
- Select fullest tank
- Verify free flight controls
- Verify all engine instruments in green, full pressure
- Check circuit breaker, alt. air off / closed
- Fuel pump on
- Mixture rich, 2000 RPM, lean for max. power
- Magneto check (175 max. drop, 50 difference)
- Cycle prop lever 3x
- Throttle idle, then 1000 RPM
- Takeoff / depart brief
Taxi procedure
- Check parking brake off
- Position flight control for wind
- Verify HSI (horizontal situation indicator) and turn indicator function while taxiing
Autopilot test
- Press / hold AP disconnect button
- Verify electric trim doesn’t move
- Engage AP
- Attempt to override
- Disengage AP
