Stuff Flashcards
What time is it?
Due to the fallacious nature of my chronometer and the inability of my cerebrum to function in the manner of an august Chief Petty Officer, I am unable to ascertain the correct military time to a punctilious degree. However, it is my firm conviction that the approximate Zulu time is_____.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE NAVY?
(Spoken in a “Pirate” voice)
All me bloomin’ life! Me mother was a Mermaid,
Me father was King Neptune. I was born on the crest
of a wave and rocked in the cradle of the deep.
Seaweed and barnacle is me clothes. The hair on me
head is hemp. Every tooth in me head is a marlinspike.
Every bone in me body’s a spar, and when I spits,
I spits tar. “I’s HARD…. I IS….. I AM……. I ARE!!!!
HOW HIGH IS UP?
“Up is equal to the amplitude, but in the opposite direction to the delineation of down, and its magnitude is often delineated in such phrases as up your nose, with a rubber hose, go climb a tree with no way down and all screwed up.
HOW OLD ARE YOU?
I am not any age because I have not been born yet. When I am born, it will be The Happiest Day of My Life.

Anchors Aweigh
Stand Navy out to sea, fight our battle cry;
We’ll never change our course, so vicious foe steer shy-y-y-y.
Roll out the TNT, Anchors aweigh! Sail on to victory
And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!
Anchors aweigh, my boys, anchors aweigh.
Farwell to foreign shores, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.
Through our last night ashore, drink to the foam,
Until we meet once more. Here’s wishing you a happy voyage home.
Blue of the mighty deep, gold of God’s great son.
Let these our colors be till all of time is done, done, done, done.
On the seven seas we learn Navy’s stern call:
Faith, courage, service true, with honor, over honor, over all.
Navy Hymn
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep.
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea! Amen.
Eternal Father, lend Thy grace To
those with wings who fly thro’ space,
Thro wind and storm, thro’ sun and rain,
Oh bring them safely home again.
Oh Father, hear an humble prayer,
For those in peril in the air! Amen.
Oh Trinity of love and pow’r,
Our brethren shield in danger’s hour,
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them where so e’er they go.
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea! Amen.
Marine Corp Hymn
From the Halls of Montezuma
To the Shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country’s battles
In the air, on land and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
of United States Marines.
Our flag’s unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in ev’ry clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job–
The United States Marines.
Here’s health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve
In many a strife we’ve fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven’s scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.
