Obliquely in the anterior portion of the retropertitoneum

Lies anterior to the aorta , superior mesenteric and left renal vein

Extends from the body of the pancreas into left anterior pararenal space

Is a curved projection of pancreatic tissue extending posterior and medial from the head
Blood supply to the pancreas is provided by
Branches of the splenic artery
Released by pancreas via negative feedback system meaning when the blood glucose rises to a certain level
