Study Guide Flashcards
Atomic Mass
Atomic mass is the mass of the protons and neutrons in an atom.
Atomic Number
It indicates the number of protons and, neutrons, and electrons in the nucleus of an atom.
Atoms
They are the basic units(s) of measure, and down to the smallest bit, never change.
Chemical Property
A chemical property is a characteristic of a particular substance that can be observed in a chemical reaction.
Chemical Reactivity
How an element or particular substance reacts with another substance.
Compound
Contain atoms of two or more elements bounded together in a specific ratio.
Condensation
Warm water vapor droplets collecting on a cool or cooler surface.
Element
A substance that cannot be broken down into simpler substances by chemical means.
Family
How the elements on the periodic table are organized and categorized.
Metals
A form of solid, of which most elements are in a room temperature.
Mixture
Contains two or more substances (elements or compounds) that are NOT bounded together.
Noble Gases
These are the non-reactive gases, because they full outer orbitals they do not bound with other elements.
Non-Metals
All of the elements on the right side of the stair step.
Particle
Is another term for the word Atom
Period
The rows going horizontially across the periodic table.
