The increasing of social and economic integration among countries around the world
Homogenization
The erasing of differences, the erasing of cultural differences so that people can become more similar
Acculturation
The cultural changes that occur when two cultures accommodate, or adapt to each other’s worldviews
Assimilation
When the culture of a minority group is absorbed by another culture. The identity of the minority group disappears as it’s members take on the identity of the other culture

Economic, political, social, environmental
Universlization
The spread of culture, trends, and customs around the world
Pop culture
The culture of people, the current cultural trends that are spread as a result of universalization
Colonialism
Acquiring full or partial control over another country, exploiting it economically
Industrial revolution
Starting in the 1700s the period when everything shifted from man made to bring run by machines, these were caused by major technological advances
Atlantic slave trade
A period when Africans were kidnapped as slaves and brought across the Atlantic Ocean to be traded for goods, which those hood were later traded again, this was an ongoing cycle
Global village
The worlds culture shrinking and expanding at the same time due to major technological advances that allow for sharing of culture
Trade liberalization
The removal of tariff and non-tariff barriers in trade
Multicultural corporations
These are large companies that are based in one country, but is produced in another, also called a transnational corporation
Industrialization
The development of industries in a country on a wide scale, also known as shifting from agriculture to manufacturing
Eurocentrism
The idea that the utopians believes their worldviews were superior to all other world views
