What is Immagration?
Immagration is wanted so Australia can be a “White Australia”. It is to stop other country’s citizens coming here.
What is Free Trade?
Free Trade is trade between the colonies without needing to pay tariffs or taxes when trying to trade.
What is Transport?
No changing of railways when going to or through other different colonies because one railway is a different size to another.
What is National Pride and Identity?
National Pride and Identity is standing as our own country because we have our own sport teams playing for Australia.
What is Defence?
Defence is being able to defend our whole country with one strong defence force instead of 6 small ones for each colony.
What is Women’s Suffrage?
Women’s Suffrage is giving women the right to have a place in parliament. Before federation very, very few women were allowed to vote. The vote before federation only let half of the population vote because men were only half.
What are Laws?
Laws were need so our country has one set of laws, our constitution. The constitution can only be changed by a referendum, a yes or no vote done by the citizens of Australia or the States.
