A

Potential space between periosteum of inner surface of skull and dura, middle meningeal artery is in this location

6
Q

Dura Mater

A

Tough membranous, outermost layer, continuous with the periosteum within skull, forms the venous sinuses in the cranial cavity. Endosteal layer is continous with the cranial periosteum. Meningeal layer folds between brain

A

Between dura and arachnoid, bridging veins and cranial venous sinuses are located here

Q

Arachnoid

A

Weblike lattices interposed between dura and pia; does not follow the sulci, bridges them

Q

Subarachnoid Space

A

Between arachnoid and pia; is filled with CSF; cerebral circulation is here (Circle of Willis)
This is the space entered with a lumbar puncture “spinal tap”
