Why is it important to have separation powers
No one has absolute powers so no one has absolute power
How are laws made?
Bill proposed, Green paper, Public discussion, debate in parl then house of laws agree
Delegated Legislation
Parliament have the ability to delegate powers to other bodies to carry out function of law.
Statutory Interpretation
If laws are unclear then courts will be called upon to interpret meaning.
Judicial Precedent
If the court makes interpretation then they and other courts will stand below decison.
