A

-representatives known as MSPs chosen through elections using AMS
-129 MSP from these the party with majority forms executive
-since 2021 SNP rules with minority govt
-scot govt runs country by proposing laws + implementing policy on devolved matters
-as in Westminster MSPs can question FM + govt actions

-elects 60 representatives known as MS’s through AMS system
-winning party forms govt + leader known as FM - Drakeford Labour
-since 2001 Lab govt governed with minority
-runs country by proposing laws + implementing policy on devolved matters
-also proposes Welsh budget + makes description km devolved taxes

A

-2017-2020 assembly suspended due to collapse in power sharing arrangement between DUP + Sinn Fein
-elects 60 representatives/MLA’s through STV
-govt is multi-party power sharing system
-current FM of stormont Givan DUP + O’Neill Sinn Fein but nit able form govt therefore position vacant
-NI assemb,t runs country by proposing laws + implementing policy on devolved matters

A

-doesn’t have own devolved National Assembly but some devolution in local govt
-57 unitary councils — single tier bodies found in large towns or cities e.g. Rutland
-36 metropolitan boroughs — similar unitary but longer established e.g. Barnsley
-combined authorities — where 2 or more councils collaborate + make collective decisions e.g. Sheffield city region
-city mayors — since 2000 local govt act cities encouraged directly elect city mayor e.g. Andy Burnham Manchester
