A sentence that exclaims and ends with an exclamation mark!!
Exclamatory sentence
a recurring subject, image, theme or idea within a text (this could be articles, poetry, novels… you name it!).
motif
a sentence consisting of only one clause, with a single subject and predicate.
simple sentence
a sentence containing a subordinate clause or clauses.
complex sentence
a clause, typically introduced by a conjunction, that forms part of and is dependent on a main clause (e.g. ‘when it rang’ in ‘she answered the phone when it rang’).
subordinate clause
joins two simple sentences together. You can use words such as ‘and’, ‘or’ and ‘but’ to join the ideas.
compound sentence
When the speaker asks a question and then answers it themselves.
