Non-linear Narrative
a narrative technique in which the storyline is told out of chronological order.
Frame narrative
a literary technique, whereby a story is situated within another story.
Cliff hanger
a situation in a story, film, competition, etc. that is very exciting because you cannot guess what will happen next, or you do not find out immediately what happens next.
Monologue
a long speech by one person during a conversation that stops other people from speaking or expressing an opinion.
