Structure Flashcards
How was the structure good at guarding Mary??
It had strong and high pillars so they could see for miles and it would be harder for a rebellion to damage or help Mary escape and it also had lots of guarded gardens so Mary could go outside but still be locked into the lodge.
How was Sheffield Manor lodge structured for a queen??
It had lots of land for Mary unlike the Castle which she described as a prison so it was more open for a Queen. The lodge’s design was also influenced by Mary with stained windows of her living within the lodge and the ceiling decorated with catholic design.
What was the structure of the castle??
It had a towers and turrets which might of been the thing that made Mary think it felt like a prison and it also had a moat so it was more guarded than the lodge but no so fit for the queen.
Why did Mary move to the lodge from the castle??
She described it as a prison and was not Happy with how enclosed it was. Elizabeth had been imprisoned in the Tower of London when her sister was ruling and felt sorrow for Mary since she knows how horrible it was to be locked up so she moved her to the lodge.
