Change in tense
When the narrative shifts from being in one tense to being in another, used to indicate a change in timeframe.
Narrative Voice
Give examples of some types
The perspective of the person we are seeing the story through.
E.G:
Intrusive Narrator
Third Person Omniscient
First Person Narrative
Extended Metaphor
A comparison between two unlike things that continues throughout a text.
Sentence Structure
The way a sentence is arranged grammatically.
Repetition
Repeating a certain word or sound within a body of text.
Paragraph Size
How long a paragraph is; it may be regular or irregular.
Enjambment
The continuation of a sentence without a pause beyond the end of a line, couplet, or stanza.
Caesura
A pause (full stop/period) in the middle of a line.
Foreshadowing
Subtle hints that reveal later events in a story.
