What is Static Stretching
Stretching that involves holding a challenging yet comfortable position for a period of time, usually between 10 and 30 seconds.
What are some Static Stretches
Inside Hurdler, Butterfly Stretch, Lower Back, Abdominal, Toe touching, Side stretch, Quads, push-ups/ sit-ups
What is Dynamic Stretching
Movement based form of stretching. Muscles are used to bring about the stretch, and it isn’t a held position.
What are some Dynamic Stretches
Walking, jogging. Skipping, Slides, Walking Lunges, and other movement activities.
Where do you take your pulse?
The Radial or Carotid Arteries
What is the average resting pulse rate
68-72 BPM
What is resting heart rate
It is the pulse rate when not doing physical activity. It slows down as you get more fit
What does pulse rate indicate
Your pulse is lower as your heart and lungs are getting more efficient and healthy.
How to calculate maximum heart rate
Take 220 and subtract your age
