Is stress caused by the effect of others unrealistic expectation that it’s weak to be stressed? And that pressure to look strong incurs more stress and more self directed anger and inadequacy. Without that pressure to look strong would we suffer from stress in the same way?
Describe the alarm stage of Hans Selye Stress
Increased muscle tension, heart rate and blood pressure increased
Describe the Resistance stage of Hans Selye Stress.
Become angry and tired often directed at themselves for feelings of inadequacy.
Describe the Exhaustion stage of Hans Selye Stress
Starts to become ill and make mistakes, severe headaches, depression and stomach problems.

How can the physical environment cause stress? 3 things
High noise levels

How can role conflict cause stress?
When the person is torn between different demands, doing things they don’t want to do or isn’t part of their job.
How can role ambiguity cause stress?
When a clear picture is not given of what their work objectives are, or the expectations are, or the responsibilities. Leads to a sense of inadequacy.
How can job characteristics cause stress? 4 points
Work overload, lack of career progression, under-utilisation of intelligence, long hours.
