Q

Dribbling

A

Autonomous learner
Habitual
Focus on external factors such as defenders positioning and space available
Performers head up ankles in plantar flexion saggital plane gastrocnemius agonist tibialis anterior antagonist
Player can drive towards the goal
Linked to agility and balance

Q

balance

A

Ability to remain in equilibrium whether stationary or moving
Effective for dribbling
Won’t get shrugged off the ball greater ball retention, drive further creating more opportunities
Smaller lower COM meaning more balance
Distributes more of his mass away from body by handing off opposition creates more balance

Q

Agility

A

Ability to change direction at speed
More explosive avoid tackles
Creates more space
Apply large force to the ground creates large reaction force by using more type 2B fibre types
Large neuron and large fibre size creates a bigger force

Q

First touch

A

Avoid losing ball after receiving it
Could be as a result of high trait sports confidence and competitive orientation
According to vealeys model increases state sports confidence
Leading to high performance levels

Q

Short pass

A

Short pass strength
Team can retain possession
Prevents counter attack and builds momentum
Shoulder abduction for balance
Higher distribution of mass Inc balance
Execution phase lateral hip rotation
Ankle locked in Doris flexion
Isometric contraction

Q

Marking

A

Could follow his man for the whole 25 minutes
He was an attacking midfielder so often marking the CDM
One reason could be a high level of CV endurance which ensures opposition CDM has no space
This leads to the opposition has less control as well as the performer being able to cover more space and keep up with play

13
Q

Speed

A

Ability to cover distance in a short amount of time
Effective when performer made runs in behind the defence
Option for through ball
Even if don’t get the ball space created
Socio cultural issue commercialisation and media coverage
Dedicated TV and radio stations
Additionally improved freedom of movement for performers allow more international role models
Both lead to Inc role models
Such as Raheem sterling known for being extremely fast encourages participation for young Children

Q

Positioning

A

Tactical strength positioning
Midfielder has to cover massive are of pitch
As said before good CV endurance would’ve helped this
Often in the correct position which meant he was in the corrects area to receive ball or shoot

15
Q

Pressing

A

Another tactical strength was his pressing
Performer constantly looking and actively pressing
Meant opposition defenders had little time to decide the best option
Lead to the performers being forced to clear the ball or lose possession
Force a mistake
Prevents build up of momentum
Ball won back

16
Q

When to dribble

A

Knowledge of when to dribble
Did it successfully
Managed to seek out space to run into
Performer was confident
According to banduras theory of self efficacy performer may have had successful performance accomplishments vicarious experiences verbal persuasion and emotional arousal
Inc amount of self efficacy for dribbling and meant performer was confident to complete it when space was available

17
Q

Shooting

A

Preparation phase good non striking foot planted next to ball to maintain control
Striking foot in the preparation phase hip in flexion to generate power which is in saggital plane
However in execution phase as hip enters extension the performers lifts his head which tales his eye odd the ball as well as leaning back
Caused performer to have 3 shots go over the bar
Leads to performer getting in the right position but 3 shots went over

18
Q

Tackling

A

Multiple opportunities to tackle however missed those opportunities
One reason may be because of the inverted u theory
This is where performance increases as arousal increases until an optimum then performance decreases
Performer may be slightly lower than optimum which causes lack of commitment into the tackle
Causes team to not be able to retrieve possession and can lead to counter attacks

19
Q

Heading

A

Final skill weakness is heading
Performer lose possession on the header which he had
By doing this instead of building counter attack of their own it leads to more pressure and in this case a cross and a headed opportunity which was put wide
One reason may be ringlemann effect where players becomes increasingly less productive when working in a larger team because of a lack of potential motivation and no extrinsic reward for his performance
Links to explosive strength

20
Q

Maximal strength

A

Ability to produce a maximal amount of force in a single muscular contraction
Couldn’t force opposition off the ball
Opposition could build possession and momentum
A reason for this could be the performers physiological make up having a shortage of type 2B fibres

21
Q

Explosive strength

A

Ability to produce a maximal amount of force in one or a series of rapid muscular contractions
Weakness when heading not good explosive strength makes the header less effective because of the jump
Beaten to the ball

22
Q

Inconsistent

A

Tactical weakness
Short passes and first touch went astray
Unnecessary loss of possession
Stops momentum build
Can leave team vulnerable at the back

23
Q

When to pass

A

Tactical weakness
Example of when the right winger had made a good run into the box
Instead of passing he shot and it went over
Prevented golden opportunity
Leaves good runs wasted

24
Q

When to shoot

A

Often decided to shoot when other options available
An example was when the performer received the ball I’m the air he volleyed the ball over when he had time and space to control the ball and retain the ball
