How can you progress a strengthening exercise?

A

Use different types of muscle contraction eg. concentric and eccentric
Strengthen whole range (mid>inner>outer)
Lengthen the level (bent arm>straight arm)
Add functional activity (specificity)
Vary speed - ballistic eg. jumpy if MRC grade 4+
Increase resistance > heavier weight, progress theraband, body weight etc.
