How social worlds help sociological analysis
- Social worlds can be studied at any scale
- Process is central to study of social worlds
- Studies of social worlds trains attention to historical analysis of that world
- Antideterminism is not threatened by a social world focus
- Social world demand new methods and new methodologies
- Social worlds urges building of general theory about worlds rather than researching particular worlds

- Arenas, no matter the scope, involve questions of policy and direction of action
- Source and issue of debate can be both external and internal to participating social world/subworld
- Arenas exist at every level of organizational action and lie at the very heart of permanence and change of social worlds
- Arenas are central to creation and maintenance of social order
