Plot Twist
a literary device that changes the expected outcome of a story, often in a surprising way
Plot
the sequence of events that make up a story, and how those events are presented to the reader
Exposition
a literary device that provides background information about a story’s setting, characters, and plot.
Rising Action
the series of events that occur after the initial setup (exposition) and lead up to the climax
Climax
the turning point in a story where the main conflict is resolved and the tension reaches its highest point
Falling Action
the part after the climax where the tension decrease and go to the resolution of the story
Resolution
the conclusion of the plot, where the main conflict is resolved and loose ends are tied up
Conflict
a literary device that involves a struggle between two opposing forces
